Path of Exile 2 is bringing the action RPG experience to consoles with seamless design and progression. However, the game has not confirmed PS4 as a platform on launch or as a potential future release. The platforms for POE 2 launch will be PC, macOS, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
The anticipated title promises to bring a streamlined interface for both PC and Console that will allow you to enjoy cross-platform play and progression. Even better, couch co-op game mode will finally be added to the game. Fans can expect POE 2 early access from mid to late 2024.
Path of Exile 2 controller support
If you have been following news from Path of Exile 2’s developers closely, you will know that the game will have much more emphasis on a heavy-combat and action-oriented play style. Something that is ideal for the handheld controller gameplay. Thus, a new seamless interface for both PC and Console will be added to the game, with a dual-stick control scheme for independent movement and aiming.
Path of Exile 2 controller UI features a staggering 24 key binds in total that ensure to facilitate your skill slots need, with 12 slots upfront and pressing LZ for the other 12 slots. Additionally, more shortcuts and fast-equip features will enhance the console experience.
Path of Exile 2 couch co-op mode
Path of Exile 2 gets even more exciting with the addition of couch co-op! This new feature lets you team up with a friend on the same setup. The game will automatically adjust to show two separate HUDs, a reworked camera that keeps both characters in view, and separate menus for each player. To join a co-op game in POE 2, the first player will need to log in with their account, and the second player can then join by logging in with their account (a guest account on that device).
The seamless cross-platform design will also facilitate cross-play and cross-progression, allowing you to switch between PC and handheld Console during your playthrough.

Path of Exile 2 coming to PS4?
There is no confirmation from the developers that Path of Exile 2 will be coming to PS4. Thus, it would seem unlikely that the game will ever see its debut on this console due to the need for technical power that the newer-gen PS5 can satisfy. This along with the current trend of moving away from previous-gen consoles that naturally take place for new triple-A titles.
POE 2 official website has confirmed the following platforms for launch: PC, macOS, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. We can expect the game to be released for PS5 and XBOX series simultaneously, along with the PC version, in mid-2025 at the soonest. The beta for PCs and consoles (or early access) will be available in late 2024.
Path of Exile 2 coming to Steam?
Following the age-old tradition of playing the original POE with a Steam account, there is no reason to expect Path of Exile 2 will diverge from this course. As of yet, there is already a POE 2 listing on the Steam store. Path of Exile 2 PC players should be able to expect its Steam version alongside the standalone PC version.
