Path of Exile League 3.25 analysis – Is Boat League Confirmed?
Here is what we know so far about League 3.25 – Settlers of Kalguur:
Sea and Boat theme: POE fans are highly speculating that patch 3.25 will be closely associated with seafare and ship-themed mechanics. And they have good reasons to.
As observed from the teaser, the obvious sea theme especially combined with the Pirates-of-the-Caribbean-esque music are undeniable evidence for the association of Pacth 3.25 and Sea/Boat game mechanics.
Expedition and Heist: Another obvious clue here is some type of collaboration between the two long-time league mechanics of Path of Exile: Expedition and Heist.
This is shown in the teaser as Dannig – an Expedition character – departs from a ship to meet with Faustus who is a Heist member. We can also see Isla – the Heist engineer sitting behind them. Thus, it is expected that League 3.25 will have some form of combination or collaboration between the two fan-favorite league mechanics: Expedition X Heist.
Settlers of Catan: The last hint here is more of a long shot, and it is about the name of the league: Settlers of Kalguur. POE fans are connecting this name to another famous board game: Settlers of Catan.
For those who are not aware. Settlers of Catan is basically a tabletop board game about resource management and area control:
- Players: 3-4 players
- Goal: Be the first player to reach a set number of victory points (typically 10).
- Gameplay:
- Players take turns rolling dice to determine resource production from hexagonal tiles representing various terrains.
- Resources are used to build settlements, cities, and roads on the board, expanding your territory and generating more resources.
- Trading resources with other players is crucial, allowing you to acquire the resources needed for specific constructions.
- The game features a “robber” mechanic, allowing players to hinder resource production for others.
For this reason, fans of the game are speculating that there will be at least a mini-game mode that relates to this famous board game formula that could be incorporated into patch 3.25 mein mechanics.
